OCTOBER |  Karen Sirianni - Fibre arts technique - Landscape

Turning a photo into a tiny  work of art!!

 

  • Sewing machine and accessories including free motion embroidery foot
  • Extension cord
  • Rotary cutter and mat, scissors
  • Scraps from the cutting room floor—these works can use the tiniest scraps -lots of small pieces in various colours are better. Solids, prints, small scale print and a few large scale prints will all work!!! Cotton, poly, sheer, organza, shiny, anything goes!!
  • Variety of threads—whatever you have—regular sewing thread and fancy threads, embroidery threads,
  • A few landscape photos, magazines with landscape pics, or any scenery type photos that you would like to use.
  • Any photocopied graphics that you would like to use—birds, animals, houses, trees, etc
  • A few sheets of craft felt or heavier weight cotton for backing—any colour
  • At least 6 old, bad photos –or a pack of photo paper from the dollar store for backing
  • Sketch pad and pencils
